Broccoli & Cheddar
I actually don’t like broccoli myself, but I’m determined that my girls will have a more adventurous palette. Following our 9 month checkup, my pediatrician told me that they should eat more protein, and can eat dairy like yogurt and cheeses.
I thought this was a perfect opportunity to add in broccoli (green veggies have been met with limited success until this point), and add some cheddar cheese. Because everything is better with cheese!
I used frozen broccoli for convenience. Here’s the super easy recipe made in my NUK Cook-n-Blend.
1/2 bag frozen broccoli (this filled the steamer about half way also)
2/3 cup water (water setting no. 2)
Steamed for 14 minutes (per water setting no. 2). This may have been a smidge long, but with frozen broccoli I gave it a little longer than probably necessary.
Blend broccoli in steaming water after dumping half out.
Add 1 slice of cheddar cheese, broken into small pieces. Blend on coarse.
Makes: approx 8 oz of baby food.
